Coronavirus: Another day of fewer than 150 new cases
The newest coronavirus case data from the Shelby County Health Department puts the area’s seven-day moving average at 154 cases.
The agency reported 148 new cases and one new coronavirus-related death on Wednesday, April 14.
Those 148 cases come from 1,609 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 9.2%.
Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 92,984 cases, including 89,998 inactive cases, 1,400 active cases and 1,586 deaths.
The Health Department releases area hospital capacity figures twice a week (typically Mondays and Thursdays). There were no updated figures released today.
The Tennessee Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. daily.
As of Tuesday, Tennessee’s statewide coronavirus total is now 826,371 coronavirus cases, including 12,022 deaths, 822 current hospitalizations and 800,957 are inactive cases.
About 7.4 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
