Coronavirus: New cases over 100, one new death
The Shelby County Health Department reported more than 100 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, April 21.
The agency reported 109 new cases and one new death.
The 109 cases come from 1,347 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 8.1%.
Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 94,069 cases, including 90,781 inactive cases, 1,688 active cases and 1,600 deaths.
The Tennessee Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
As of Tuesday, Tennessee’s coronavirus total was 836,563 cases, including 12,096 deaths, 874 current hospitalizations and 811,192 inactive cases.
About 7.5 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
