Coronavirus: 175 new cases reported

The Shelby County Health Department reported 175 new coronavirus cases and no new coronavirus-related deaths on Thursday, April 29.

The 175 cases come from 2,947 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 5.9%.


80% of COVID vaccine allotment went unused last week, state says


Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 95,262 cases, including 92,068 inactive cases, 1,577 active cases and 1,617 deaths.

The Tennessee Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Tennessee’s reported coronavirus total is now 845,380, including 12,171 deaths, 823 current hospitalizations and 820,441 are inactive cases.

About 7.6 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
