Coronavirus: 149 new cases, no deaths
The Shelby County Health Department reported 149 new coronavirus cases and no additional deaths Sunday, May 2.
The new cases come from 2,487 tests, yielding a 6% positivity rate. They bring the total number of cases in Shelby County to 95,747, with 1,633 currently active and 92,494 marked as inactive or recovered. The total coronavirus-related deaths in Shelby County stands at 1,620.
A total of 315,183 people have been vaccinated in Shelby County, with 95,980 partially vaccinated and 219,203 fully vaccinated.
About 1.2 million COVID tests have been performed in Shelby County, with a positivity rate of 9%.
Updated regional hospitalization data had not been made available Sunday morning.
As of Friday, Tennessee’s coronavirus total stands at 847,430, including 12,197 deaths, 819 current hospitalizations and 822,733 inactive cases, according to the state Department of Health.
About 7.6 million coronavirus tests have been performed in the state of Tennessee.
