Coronavirus: Three new deaths reported

The Shelby County Health Department reported three new coronavirus-related deaths on Wednesday, May 5.


Herd immunity ‘complicated’ but up to 66% of locals have COVID antibodies


The agency also reported 106 new coronavirus cases.

The 106 cases come from 1,437 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 7.4%.

Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 96,050 cases, including 92,853 recoveries, 1,574 active cases and 1,623 deaths.

The Tennessee Department of Health releases new statewide coronavirus figures Monday through Friday at 2 p.m.
