Property values jump in reappraisals; tax calculations still to come
Reappraisal notices are now showing up in mailboxes across Shelby County. The notices are the first public step in a complex process with political considerations, none more political than setting a tax rate. (Daily Memphian)
About two-thirds of the new property values, done once every four years, have been mailed. The reappraisal starts a complex and political process across all of the local governments in Shelby County that ends with setting new property tax rates.
