County Commission to vote on property reappraisal every two years
Assessor Melvin Burgess Jr. listens during a County Commission meeting in 2018. Burgess is proposing a change from property reappraisals every four years to a reappraisal every other year. (Houston Cofield/Daily Memphian file)
The move to every other year comes as property owners are getting reappraisal notices this month that increased property values by an average of 15% to 20% countywide.
