With 40 points and 10 assists, Ja Morant nearly carried the Grizzlies to overtime against the Lakers.

With the backcourt trio of Ja Morant, Desmond Bane and De’Anthony Melton, the Grizzlies hope they have something special brewing.
He wants to be an All-Star. He doesn’t hide that goal, as other players choose to do. But he also doesn’t want that desire to get in the way of his team goals, which ultimately keep everyone in Memphis happy.
By the time Ja Morant was finished for the evening, fans at FedExForum were chanting, “MVP! MVP!” On this night, Morant looked like a true superstar. The new season could be a whole lot of fun.
