The Grizzlies have looked better, especially during their recent 3-1 road trip, but they don’t want to get ahead of themselves. Especially with 60 more games to play.

Drew Hill and Chris Herrington discuss Zach Edey’s impact, the resurgence of Vince Williams Jr. and the vibes around the franchise after winning three of the last four games. 

The mailbag is mostly taking questions on the franchise’s five key figures: Tuomas Iisalo, Zach Kleiman, Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Zach Edey, with a few extras sprinkled at the end. 

The Stro Show started fewer than 100 games in his NBA career, never averaged a dozen points in a season, but still ranks in the top 20 in franchise history in points, rebounds, steals and blocks.

The Grizzlies, again, watched an opposing star guard shine while their three top on-ball guards watched from the bench in track suits.

With Zach Edey’s return, the Memphis Grizzlies have overcome backcourt injuries to win with power. It’s not quite what head coach Tuomas Iisalo envisioned. 

The Grizzlies’ second-year center scored a career-high 32 points and celebrated the end of the Thanksgiving weekend by gobbling up 17 rebounds.

Edey recorded his third double-double of the season in 29 minutes, shooting 16 of 20 from the floor.

The Grizzlies pulled away with a 10-2 run in the fourth quarter with Jaren Jackson Jr. and Zach Edey on the bench. But it was those two players who brought home the win.

The Grizzlies outscored the Clippers by eight in the fourth quarter to get their fourth win in five games.

Basketball is sometimes called a “game of runs,” and this one was that for 45 minutes.

The Grizzlies outscored New Orleans by 39 points during the 35 minutes Zach Edey was on the court.

At his best, Jonas Valanciunas had a Zach Randolph game in a Marc Gasol package: a walking, talking Ga-Z-Bo. 

Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey left Monday’s game against Denver, but not due to injury.

Center Zach Edey played less than six minutes. Memphis coach Tuomas Iisalo said after the game that Edey got hit in the head and was unable to return.

The Grizzlies are playing without most of their primary point guards, including Ja Morant, who missed his fourth straight game with a right calf strain.

While the Memphis Grizzlies haven’t said so, it appears that Ja Morant will be out at least two more weeks with the right calf strain he suffered on Nov. 15 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. 

Morant, who missed his third straight game with a calf injury, and Thompson, who missed a game-tying 3-point attempt with 20 seconds left in the game, exchanged words at the conclusion of the game in Dallas.

While still playing on a minutes restriction in his fourth game back from offseason ankle surgery, Zach Edey had a double-double, with 12 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks in 26 minutes.
