The Grizzlies signed Zavier Simpson of the G League’s Motor City Cruise to a 10-day contract. Simpson is averaging 19.5 points and 8.3 assists this season.

Desmond Bane said Brandon Clarke deserves as much credit as anyone for helping build the current Grizzlies culture. 

Brandon Clarke “knew it was going to be a lengthy road,” Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said. “It’s a product of just seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. ... He deserves this opportunity.”

Brandon Clarke scored six points and had five rebounds in his return. But the Grizzlies fans were just happy to see him.

The bill that would help fund FedExForum renovations by allowing Shelby County to reallocate hotel-motel tax dollars to the project cleared its first legislative hurdle on Wednesday, March 27.

When the Grizzlies dealt both Steven Adams and Xavier Tillman Sr. at February’s trade deadline, it was assumed offseason focus would turn to a now big hole at the big-man spot.

The Warriors scored the last 10 points of the first half and the first 12 points of the second half to pull away for a 137-116 win.

The Shelby County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution Monday that would cap the amount of hotel-motel tax funding Memphis Tourism receives, according to a resolution handed out to the media Monday, March 18.

State Sen. Brent Taylor told The Daily Memphian Monday morning that he is working on a bill allowing Shelby County to reallocate hotel-motel tax funding to cover the public financing gap for the Downtown Memphis arena’s renovations.
