As Memphis embarks on the NBA offseason, it does so with once-unexpected notes of both certainty and uncertainty.

The suit comes from a July 2022 incident at the Memphis Grizzlies star’s home in Eads, where a pickup basketball game turned sour and allegedly resulted in an altercation between Morant and his guest, Joshua Holloway.

Incarnate Word coach Shane Heirman’s connection to Jaren Jackson Jr. helped to lure his father, Jaren Jackson Sr., back to his old stomping grounds in San Antonio.

At the conclusion of this season, Morant noted publicly that he wants to be better at making smart choices. 

It’s not easy to become a shooting guard for the Memphis Grizzlies, but Luke Kennard wasn’t alone. “It became who we were as a family,” said mother Jennifer Kennard. “And we loved it, but it required a lot of us all to make it happen.”

The answer to that question likely depends on who you ask and what they value.
