The Celtics game looked like a chance for Memphis to get a victory amid a difficult scheduling stretch. It turned out to be a mess.

Edey, who has not yet played this season following offseason ankle surgery, was upgraded to doubtful on the team’s injury report ahead of Wednesday’s game (6:30 p.m. CT) at the Boston Celtics.

It should come as no surprise that the man dubbed “Slow Mo” is one of nine players in Grizzlies history among the franchise’s top 20 in rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.

The Grizzlies played a great first half on Sunday. In New York on Tuesday, their good start didn’t even last a quarter.

The Memphis Grizzlies and Gray Media are partnering to simulcast seven of the team’s games on local channels throughout the Mid-South for free.

After a few days of crashing out, the back-to-normal Grizzlies hit the road, with plenty to evaluate, on the sidelines and on the floor. 

“The shot hasn’t been falling for him in some of these games,” Tuomas Iisalo said about Ja Morant. “That’s something that we can live with. It’s going to come around.”

Memphis was within single digits with more than four minutes left when Gilgeous-Alexander converted consecutive 3-pointers and completed a three-point play to stretch the lead to double-figures.
