The University of Memphis’ 2022-2023 men’s basketball schedule includes seven games against teams that played in either the NCAA Tournament or National Invitational Tournament.

The opening games of the ESPN Events Invitational are set. 

In his fifth year at the University of Memphis, Penny Hardaway has assembled his most experienced roster ever. He’s added AAC Player of the Year Kendric Davis. He’s added talented wing players Emmanuel Akot and Keonte Kennedy.

At one point earlier this summer, a source said, “It’s on him if he wants to come back.”

In an ideal season, these are the performances that will lead the Tigers back to the NCAA Tournament. 

The Tigers jumped in the running for two of the best shooting guards in the country.

Even though Hardaway accomplished his primary goal last season, he understood that the path Memphis took would be unsustainable going forward.

Finding the right combinations should be much easier for Penny Hardaway this season.

Memphis is ranked in the top 20 in NIL compensation.

Hardaway continues to put together a challenging nonconference slate for the Tigers.

The Memphis Tigers’ coach now can avoid certain lineup dilemmas and focus on an experienced roster.
