The Memphis Tigers’ 2021 regular-season finale against Tulane just got even more interesting.
Former Tigers defensive lineman Joseph Dorceus posted on Instagram late Thursday night that he was committing to the Green Wave.
The younger brother of former Tigers running back Doroland, Joseph Dorceus entered the transfer portal in January.
Dorceus had three sacks and 30 tackles this past season. He had arguably the highlight of the season with a touchdown catch against Florida Atlantic in the Montgomery Bowl win.
He also had a 25-yard run on a fake punt in the Tigers’ season opener against Arkansas State.
After walking on to the program, Dorceus earned a scholarship in spring 2018 and quickly became a key member of the Memphis defensive line. The senior had 90 solo tackles and 15 sacks in four seasons.
The Tigers already were going to have plenty of motivation after the Green Wave beat them, 35-21, on Dec. 5.
Dorceus heading to New Orleans should only add to that, especially considering the success Tulane had up front against the Tigers’ offensive line.
Memphis will play Tulane on Nov. 27 at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.
