Arion Carter was a 3-star recruit when he committed to the Tigers over the summer. He’s now a 4-star athlete who has garnered a lot of attention from other schools. 

True freshman Sutton Smith has been productive in the 15 touches he’s had this season. The Tigers might give him more carries this week. 

Running backs Tony Pollard, Antonio Gibson and Darrell Henderson Jr. all scored touchdowns this week. 

It’s the second straight season that Memphis has entered the final two games still striving for bowl eligibility.

Ben Chase is on a season-long road trip to attend upwards of 70 games in one season. Thursday’s game at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium was No. 46.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak and put Memphis (5-5, 3-4 AAC) one win away from qualifying for its ninth consecutive bowl game.

Hey, look. The Memphis Tigers won a game! The Tigers finally got the breaks they needed Thursday as they defeated Tulsa, 26-10.

The Tigers are preparing face a Golden Hurricane rushing defense that is the fourth-worst in the country out of 131 FBS teams.

AAC announces Memphis football conference opponents through 2026

The Tigers will play UAB every year through 2026. The full list of nonconference and conference opponents are set for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. 

Rogers became the first Black athlete to join the Memphis football team when he walked on during the spring of 1968 and earned a scholarship during the spring of 1969.

Bryce Huff forced a fumble by sacking Bills quarterback Josh Allen that helped seal the 20-17 victory for the New York Jets over Buffalo. 

“It does me no good to sit here and say would have, could have, should have and I don’t allow our players to do it,” Silverfield said. “We don’t make excuses. We go out there and charge away.”

An eight-win season seemed more probable when the Tigers were looking at a 4-1 record with seven games remaining. Now the Tigers need to win at least two of the last three just to reach a bowl game.
