Dear Readers,

I wanted to let you know that, as of Monday, we have made our important continuing coverage of the coronavirus free for everyone. The Daily Memphian relies on our readers’ support. That strong support has enabled us to grow into the best local news site in the region. Normally, we require a subscription to read more than three articles a month.

But these are extraordinary times. A crucial part of our mission is to keep our local readers informed about the most important news, as it happens. We think it’s in the best public interest to make sure everyone has access to the latest local developments on the coronavirus. We started a live blog that is updated throughout the day and is a one-stop destination for all coronavirus news. We also have made free any other news stories about the coronavirus, such as the UT researcher in Memphis working to find a drug to combat the disease.

If you are a subscriber, thank you for your support. If you are not, please consider joining our team and supporting the future of local journalism in Memphis.

Our newsroom will continue to work hard to bring you the latest news and analysis on this developing story.
