This week, Memphis and Shelby County moved into Phase 2 of the Back to Business plan.

That includes the Memphis Zoo.

With that move, the institution has increased its capacity to 5,000 guests at any given time.

Still required are facial coverings for both zoo staff and guests. Things that are not allowed: outside food and drink (except for those with dietary restrictions) and coolers.

Cash is not being accepted as a form of payment. Guests can use a credit card, membership information (along with ID) and Apple Pay.

All rides, the playground, the giraffe feeding deck, camel rides, water play areas, keeper chats and shows, and some indoor exhibits remain closed to guests.

Zoo staff and guests are asked to stay home if they are sick and are encouraged to practice respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene.

Staff is routinely cleaning all surfaces and public areas, according to the Zoo.
