Shelby County coronavirus cases increase by 98, deaths by 2
Shelby County has 98 more confirmed coronavirus cases since yesterday and two more deaths resulting from the disease, according to Shelby County Health Department data.
That brings the area’s total to 6,443 confirmed cases and 138 deaths.
The 98 new cases come from 743 tests, a positivity rate of 13.2%.
More than 4,500 people in Shelby County are considered to have recovered from coronavirus.
The state’s Department of Health updates its numbers at 2 p.m. daily. As of Thursday, June 11, the agency reported 28,340 confirmed cases statewide, including 18,922 people who are considered recovered from the disease.
According to the same data, 441 Tennesseans have died from coronavirus and 2,011 have ever been hospitalized.
