Shelby County coronavirus cases increase by nearly 200
As of Tuesday, June 16, there are 198 more coronavirus cases confirmed in Shelby County and three more deaths, according to the Shelby County Health Department.
The county’s total is now 7,090 cases and 142 deaths, according to the same data; 4,803 people are considered recovered from the virus.
The 198 confirmed cases come from 2,091 tests administered, a positivity rate of 9.5%. More than 100,000 (100,196) tests have been administered in Shelby County.
The Tennessee Department of Health reports statewide figures at 2 p.m. daily.
As of Monday, June 15, there were 31,160 reported coronavirus cases, an increase of 728 from the day prior. More than 20,000 (20,062) people are considered recovered.
In Tennessee, there have been 483 deaths resulting from coronavirus, according to the agency’s data.
