Regional One, Semmes Murphey zap cells in brain that cause tremors
Dr. Aaron Bond, a neurosurgeon, prepares for surgery recently. Regional One and Semmes Murphey Clinic are partnering to offer a treatment that uses MRI to guide focused ultrasound to eliminate tremor cells in a patient’s brain. There is no incision. “We can essentially zap those cells, which stops the patient’s tremor,” Bond said. (Houston Cofield/Special to the Daily Memphian)
The incision-less procedure is done outpatient at Regional One’s east campus by Semmes Murphey neurosurgeon, Dr. Aaron Bond.
