Memphis officer brightens day for Whitehaven parkgoers during pandemic
Memphis Police officer LaTica Bennett greets runners and walkers over her patrol car’s speakers every morning at David Carnes Park in Whitehaven. It took her a while to get up the nerve to greet parkgoers amid the recent tension nationwide between police and the community. “I was kinda nervous about it. Memphis police officer LaTica Bennett has been assigned to patrol David Carnes Park in Whitehaven during the pandemic. She took it upon herself to personally greet those in the park every day.
