Local nonprofits receive $26.3M in COVID aid
Ninety-eight local organizations that have responded to the coronavirus pandemic are receiving a total of $26.3 million in reimbursement grant funding.
The United Way of the Mid-South reviewed 230 applications and made recommendations to the state’s Department of Human Services. As a grant administrator, the organization is responsible for outreach, marketing, reporting and monitoring spending of approved programs.
The $26.3 million was a part of $150 million awarded statewide to 656 nonprofits through the Tennessee Community CARES Program.
Award amounts range from $25,000 to $2 million.
