Coronavirus: Nearly 400 new cases reported

The Shelby County Health Department reported nearly 400 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, Nov. 19.
The agency reported 389 new cases and seven new deaths.
The 389 cases come from 3,621 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 10.7%.
Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 44,222 cases, including 39,438 inactive cases (recoveries), 4,160 active cases and 624 deaths.
There were 387 COVID-positive patients in area hospital beds as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Tennessee Healthcare Resource Tracking System.
According to the HRTS, 89% of area ICU beds and 91% of area acute care beds were in use.
About 30% of area ICU patients were either COVID-positive (101) or suspected of having coronavirus (12). About 14% of area acute care patients were either COVID-positive (286) or suspected of having the virus (35).
And 49 area ICU and 207 area acute care beds were available.
