According to the latest Shelby County Health Department data, 71,898 people in Shelby County have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose and 27,751 people have received both COVID-19 vaccine doses, meaning they are fully vaccinated.

And 99,649 total doses have been administered in Shelby County.

The Shelby County Health Department reported 116 new coronavirus cases and zero new coronavirus-related deaths on Tuesday, Feb. 16. 

Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 86,522 cases, including 82,477 inactive cases (recoveries), 2,604 active cases and 1,441 deaths.

There were 268 COVID-positive patients in area hospital beds as of 5 p.m. Monday, according to the Tennessee Healthcare Resource Tracking System.

According to the HRTS, 91% of area ICU and 87% of area acute care beds were in use.

About 19.3% of patients in area ICU beds were COVID-positive (72) or suspected of having the coronavirus (3). About 9.4% of patients in area acute care beds were either COVID-positive (196) or suspected of having the coronavirus (29).

And 38 area ICU and 306 area acute care beds were available.

Bed capacity is calculated by subtracting beds occupied by patients, unstaffed beds and beds that are otherwise unavailable.

The capacity figures are inclusive of all hospital facilities in Shelby, Tipton and Lauderdale counties in Tennessee as well as facilities in Crittenden County, Arkansas, and DeSoto County, Mississippi.

COVID-19 vaccine doses administered down slightly

The Tennessee Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. daily.

As of Monday, Tennessee’s reported coronavirus total is 758,561 cases, including 10,937 deaths, 1,091 current hospitalizations and 724,031 inactive cases (recoveries).

About 6.6 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
