For the third consecutive day, the Shelby County Health Department reported more than 150 new COVID-19 cases.

The health agency reported 155 new cases and one additional coronavirus death in its daily update Saturday, April 10.

The 155 additional cases came from 3,024 tests, yielding a 5.1% positivity rate.

Active cases in Shelby County stand at 1,200, an increase of 24 from the 1,176 reported Friday.

A total of 266,298 people are vaccinated in Shelby County. The number of people partially vaccinated is 116,304, while 149,994 people are fully vaccinated.

Overall, the Health Department has reported 92,374 total coronavirus cases and 1,585 deaths, classifying 89,589 cases as inactive/recovered.

More than 1.1 million COVID-19 tests have been performed in Shelby County, yielding a 10% positivity rate.

There were 135 COVID-19 patients in Memphis-area hospitals as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, the latest data available, according to Tennessee’s Healthcare Resource Tracking System.

Hospital capacity for ICU beds is at 90% use, and acute care beds are at 93% occupancy. The number of area ICU beds available is 39 with 168 acute care beds open.

Bed capacity is calculated by subtracting beds occupied by patients, unstaffed beds and beds that are otherwise unavailable.

Of the 135 COVID patients, 48 are in intensive care unit beds, with 87 in acute care beds.

Those who are COVID-positive or suspected of having the virus represent about 15% of ICU patients and 5% of acute care patients.
