The business, at 107 South Germantown Parkway, is still operating.

Oak Court Mall owner files for reorganization bankruptcy

The case was filed June 29 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee. The business, Butcher Shop of Cordova LLC, owned by Dennis Day, lists more than $1.4 million in debts — including $800,000 in paycheck protection loans — to 20 of its largest creditors.

The number of creditors is listed as between 50 and 99. Assets are valued up to $50,000.

It has three months to come up with an operating plan.

The owner did not comment.

A meeting for creditors is scheduled Aug. 2.

Day was part of the partnership that owned the Downtown store, also called The Butcher Shop. It had been in business 31 years when it closed in 2012.

At that time, Day and partner Simpson Hughes said they were going to focus efforts on the Cordova store, which opened in 1999.
