All classes at Southwest Tennessee Community College will be held virtually Sept. 7-11 to decrease the risk of COVID-19 infection associated with Labor Day weekend activity. The period will also give those who may have contracted the disease over the weekend to get tested and quarantine.

“This is a prudent measure designed to protect life and prevent a more serious disruption in our students’ academic progress,” President Tracy D. Hall said. “Since the outset of the pandemic, our priorities have been the health and welfare of students, employees and the broader community.”

The college has worked with local school districts to ensure that learning for high school students at Southwest is not disrupted. Students enrolled at Medical District High School will continue with on-campus classes at Southwest’s Union Avenue campus.
