If a company wants to sponsor a Greater Memphis Chamber event, there’s now a full-time staff member who can help with that and other marketing opportunities.

Wednesday, the Chamber announced the hire of DeQuanda Roberson to fill the newly created role of sponsorship development manager, part of the organization’s membership team.

“In addition to a strong understanding of this market, DeQuanda understands how to develop solutions-based strategies for clients,” Rob Recker, the Chamber’s senior vice president of growth, said in a prepared statement. “We believe she will be a great asset to our membership team.”

Roberson is coming to the Chamber from a 20-year media sales career at Nexstar Broadcasting, which owns local channels WATN Local 24, WLMT CW 30 and Fox 16 in Jackson, Tennessee.

Roberson most recently served as Nexstar Broadcasting’s local sales manager, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Last year, she founded WiB — Women in Business Expo, an event that showcases the women who are shaping the local workforce and business industry.

A graduate of West Memphis High School, Roberson received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis, where she is currently a Fogelman College of Business MBA candidate anticipated to graduate in spring of 2019.
