Gov. Haslam appoints Akbari to juvenile justice panel

State Senate Democratic Caucus chair Raumesh Akbari hopes to delve into juvenile justice, changing the law on status offenses such as truancy and allowing "blended sentencing" that could keep juveniles from graduating to adult offenses.
