Council approves city’s share of recurring funding for MATA
The funding mechanism approved by the Memphis City Council on Tuesday, June 21, is the increase in city and county property-tax revenues. It’s estimated the revenue for MATA in the fiscal year that begins July 1 will be $4 million with an additional $400,000 in county revenue. (Daily Memphian file)
The growing pool of property-tax funding is expected to reach the $30 million goal in the next seven to eight fiscal years — with city and county combined funding.
