City seeks police recruitment services to help bolster staffing
A class of 70 recruits graduated from the Memphis Police Department’s 136th Basic Recruit Class this summer. There was a 23% decline in applications to for police officers, and a 54% drop in new hires in 2020 compared to 2019. (Courtesy Memphis Police Department)
The consulting company will work with the department for three months to help devise strategies and best practices for recruiting.
