TBI called in after arrested suspect transported to hospital

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating an incident involving an arrest made by the Memphis Police Department at the request of Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, officers in the area of Raines Road and Ross Road attempted to make a traffic stop for reckless driving.
In an attempt to take the suspect into custody, several confrontations allegedly occurred. The department released the following statement on Twitter:

TBI also released a statement on Twitter, stating Mulroy requested a “use of force investigation.”
Following the arrest, the individual was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
