Grizzlies hire Patrick St. Andrews as assistant coach
The Memphis Grizzlies are hiring former Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Patrick St. Andrews, according to league sources.
St. Andrews coached alongside Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins during his stint as an assistant in Milwaukee under Mike Budenholzer.
Ahead of the Bucks’ championship in 2021, St. Andrews was promoted to a front-of-the-bench assistant coaching role and played a big part in orchestrating Milwaukee’s offense.
The newest Grizzlies assistant coach began his NBA career as a seasonal assistant in basketball operations with the Atlanta Hawks in 2013. He was later hired as an assistant video coordinator in 2014-15 and promoted to head video coordinator for the 2016-17 season.
St. Andrews also worked as an assistant coach for the Dominican Republic National Team for the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship in Mexico City. He played college basketball at Penn State Behrend, where he was a two-year captain.
Memphis assistant coach Darko Rajakovic accepted the head coaching position with the Toronto Raptors earlier this week. Look for the Grizzlies to make one additional hire as they work through the staff for next season.
