A North Memphis staple for nearly 40 years will soon be placed on the market.
Roxie’s Grocery, 520 N. Third St., will be listed for $800,000, according to real estate agent Yvonne Spencer, who is representing the owners.
Floyd and Roxie Miller started Roxie’s Grocery in 1986. According to public records, the Millers purchased the building in 1989 for $31,500.
While the restaurant is awaiting purchase, it will remain open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until the sale is complete.
Some have called its burgers the best in the city.
The business is closing because the couple is retiring.
Shelby County commissioners Mickell Lowery and Charlie Caswell Jr. will hold a ceremony at the store, honoring the restaurant’s legacy and owners, at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4.
