Momentum is building in Memphis.
In the hotel space alone, Downtown has 15 projects in the pipeline while DeSoto County expects 20. East Memphis and Germantown also boast 12 hotel projects under construction, according to Chuck Pinkowski, founder of hospitality consulting firm Pinkowski & Co.
“This is what we need,” Pinkowski said of the hotel development pipeline.
On Thursday, Oct. 19, Pinkowski will bring 17 years of experience in advising members of the hospitality industry to The Daily Memphian’s Developing Memphis Seminar.
Held at the the Memphis Botanic Garden, the seminar will begin at 3:30 p.m. that day. Tickets are now on sale for $33.85
In addition to Pinkowski, Bill Ganus of November 6 Investments, currently behind the $40.7 million mixed-use development in Uptown known as the Dixie Greyhound project, and Andre Jones of Jones Urban Development will also be on the panel.
With 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Jones will focus on work underway at Malone Park Commons in Uptown.
“Neighborhoods used to be built for resilience and walkability,” Jones said. “I’m going to get into why these patterns became extinct and how Malone Park Commons fits into that timeless way of building.”
