The University of Memphis women’s soccer team found themselves in unfamiliar territory during Tuesday’s AAC quarterfinal match with UAB at Lakeland Ranch, Florida.
The top-seeded Tigers had not surrendered a goal since Sept. 28, but in the eighth minute, 8th-seed UAB’s Jolie St. Louis broke that streak when she scored on a breakaway and gave the Blazers an early 1-0 lead.
Memphis still trailed entering the 61st minute when Anne-Valerie Seto finally tied the game on a diving header off a free kick from Saorla Miller.
Miller then used her head and scored the game-winner off a header in the 88th minute on a cross by Seto to help the Tigers win their 13th consecutive match, 2-1.
