Memphis defensive lineman Zy Brockington announced his decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal through social media on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

The portal doesn’t officially open until Dec. 4, but Brockington is the third Tiger to reveal he is entering. Starting right guard Davion Carter and backup quarterback Tevin Carter announced Monday.

“First off, I would like to thank (defensive line) Coach (Kyle) Pope and the whole Memphis staff for taking me in,” Brockington said in his social media post. “But with a long and hard talk with my family, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.”

Brockington, a junior, joined the Tigers out of high school in 2021. He is from Moultrie, Georgia.

He appeared in 10 games as a true freshman before playing in nine games as a sophomore last year. He recorded three tackles in five games this year and leaves Memphis with 21 total tackles and a forced fumble.
