Strolling from Stax to Sun? Proposed ‘Art Line’ could make it a reality
Yvonne Bobo (left), and Brendan Duffy are leading a project with Off the Walls Arts on an abandoned railroad spur between South City and the Edge District that they're hoping to turn into the Off the Rails Art Line. The led a cleanup day there Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023. “It will take a while and a lot of money,” Duffy said. (Brad Vest/Special to The Daily Memphian)
“About three years ago, the railroad tore out the tracks and then they just stopped taking care of it, and that’s how we got it,” said Brendan Duffy. “I just kept emailing and calling around to different people, and they sent me a lease.”
