Sound Bites: Whataburger, West African BBQ and more
This week on Sound Bites, Holly Whitfield and I take in the breaking news that a location of the Texas-based fast-food franchise Whataburger could be Midtown bound.
A couple of years after re-arriving in the Memphis market, is our Whataburger fever over? Is the proposed stretch of Union Avenue, where the franchise would be already too saturated with fast-food chains?
We also talk about our respective recent visits to Mary’s B.O.T.E., a new bar in Midtown, and Mande Dibi West African BBQ Grill, chef Bala Tounkara’s second restaurant, in Hickory Hill.
We also offer some Memphis eating shout-outs and celebrate National BLT and National Grilled Cheese months.
