Ballot question to add suburban seats to MLGW board fails at City Council
“The voters are going to vote this down,” council member Chase Carlisle said before the item to give non-Memphians seats on the MLGW board was withdrawn. “You might as well give them the chance to do this. The sponsor withdrew the referendum as other Memphis City Council members prepared to vote it down. The council also dealt with three other ballot questions.
