Murders down 21% so far this year
Murders are down 21% and homicides are down 18% for the year compared to the same point last year, according to data provided by the Memphis Police Department. (Mark Weber/The Daily Memphian)
In 2023, Memphis hit a record 398 homicides, which include murders, justifiable homicides, negligent vehicular manslaughter and negligent manslaughter.
