On a day like that, after a win like that, even the band sounds better.
Will Plenk noticed a difference from the first moments Saturday, Sept. 14. Plenk is the director of the Mighty Sound of the South.
“I heard it right from the beginning, from the first notes we played in the stadium,” he said. “We try to start the warm-up at a moderate dynamic level. I’m trying to convince them to play at that level. But the very first notes that came out of their horns, it was like they were playing the fight song after a touchdown.”
And by the end?
When Chandler Martin chased down Florida State quarterback DJ Uigalelei for a sack? And Julian Barnett knocked down the final pass to clinch the 20-12 win?
