Mike Cody, Memphis ‘lion’ for justice, dies at 88
W.J. Michael Cody began his practice at Burch, Porter & Johnson in 1961. He has also served as the Attorney General of Tennessee from 1984 to 1988, was the United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee from 1977 to 1981, and served on the Memphis City Council from 1975 to 1977. Mike Cody represented Martin Luther King Jr. in court, helped found Memphis Area Legal Services and was one of the people behind Breakaway Running.
