DeSoto County assistant district attorney held in criminal contempt
DeSoto County Assistant District Attorney Andrew Willcutt, held in criminal contempt, will spend the weekend in jail.
County Circuit Court Judge Celeste Wilson admonished Willcutt on Monday, Sept. 30, for his handling of a 2023 case and defying verbal and written orders to appear in open court.
“In the undersigned’s over 15 years serving as a judicial officer for the State of Mississippi, she has never been confronted with such an affront to the Court’s authority as has been exhibited repeatedly by ADA Willcutt...” Wilson wrote.
