MAS director fired from previous job for alleged misconduct, lying
Suspended Memphis Animal Services Director Ty Coleman was fired from a previous job in Sherman, Texas, after officials there determined he lied to them in an investigation regarding alleged inappropriate behavior, according to personnel records.
Coleman was fired as Sherman Animal Services Manager on July 21, 2020, barely a year after being hired for the $65,000 job in the city about 65 miles north of Dallas with a population of about 45,000.
Coleman is still earning his City of Memphis salary of $120,000, despite being suspended in June and facing not only a city investigation but a state one as well.
According to Coleman’s personnel record from Sherman, released this week after a public records request, fellow employees in the animal services department filed a complaint about Coleman with city officials on April 30, 2020.
