Roxie’s Market takes root in Uptown
Tawana Lee browsed bins of freshly picked seasonal produce, including two varieties of kale, winter squash, carrots and green heirloom tomatoes grown by local producers.
She eventually picked up a bottle of Thai basil tea brewed from Halls of Ivy Academy’s Seed 2 Market entrepreneurial program during her recent visit to the newly opened Roxie’s Market.
“Everything’s fresh,” Lee said. “It ain’t been through no process. It’s coming straight out of the ground.”
