Word Search: Limericks by the DA

Shelby County District Attorney General Steve Mulroy still remembers one of the earliest limericks he ever wrote, and it was about, of all things, that odd creature called the platypus.

Mulroy was in the fifth grade in Brooklyn. His science class had been studying different animals, and the students were asked to write about one of them. Mulroy chose the platypus, and something just clicked:

“The platypus is an interesting creature
With its duckbill its most interesting feature
Webbed feet! Close-slit eyes!
It should come as no surprise
That it looks very much like my teacher!”

Mulroy didn’t know it then, but that innocent rhyme from an 11-year-old would lead to an obsession that would inspire hundreds of laughs over the years, and likely even a few groans.

With District Attorney Mulroy and limericks in mind, can you solve this week’s word search?
