Memphis’ Dante Harris unsure about status for Colorado State
SEATTLE — Though Memphis’ Dante Harris has made progress in his recovery, his status remains uncertain as the No. 5 seed Tigers (29-5) prepare to take on No. 12 seed Colorado State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday (1 p.m. CT, TBS) in Seattle.
“It’s still day to day,” the Tigers’ 6-foot reserve point guard told The Daily Memphian on Thursday at Climate Pledge Arena. “I’m still getting like two or three treatments a day just to try and hurry and get back out there with the guys. It’s day to day. I’m just trying to play as soon as possible.”
Harris, a midseason transfer from Virginia, has been sidelined for the past four games with a high ankle sprain he suffered in Memphis’ March 4 road win against UTSA. Harris had averaged 2.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals in 11.8 minutes per game through 16 games prior to the injury.
