Jigsaw: Art of mystery
The Memphis Botanic Garden in East Memphis hosts the Incognito Art Auction with more than 100 original, unsigned works by Mid-South artists. (Ziggy Mack/Special to the Daily Memphian)
There are 104 pieces of art on the walls of the Memphis Botanic Garden right now, and Carlee Zamora may be the only one who knows who created each and every piece.
That mystery is the allure of the Incognito Art Auction, the annual MBG fundraiser that’s been going on for the past 15 years. Anyone wanting to buy one of the pieces will have to do so based solely on what they see and how it makes them feel, not because of the name of the artist.
