Cooling center opens Downtown

For anyone who needs to escape the heat Sunday, July 20, the Hospitality Hub at 590 Washington Ave. Downtown will be open as a cooling center 11 a.m.-7 p.m., officials said.


Steve Miller Band cancels tour, leaving a hole in Live at the Garden lineup


Transportation will be provided by MATA; requests can be made by calling 901-486-0939 during the cooling center’s hours. All are welcome. Guests will need to check in upon arrival, but IDs are not required.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory with the heat index expected to surpass 110 degrees Sunday.
